| 2 cups flour | 1 tbsp baking powder | milk |
| dash of sugar | 1 tsp salt | |
| 1 | Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together; add just enough milk to make a stiff dough; place on floured board; flour hands and pinch off dough, rolling into sticks about twice as thick as a pencil. Drop into deep bacon fat and fry until brown. May also be rolled out and cut into strips and fried. |
